What AroundTheGlobe collects, and why. In short: as little as it can.
If you just look around
- No account, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
- We count how often the globe is visited, how often each listing is opened and how often its website link is followed. These are plain totals for each day: nothing in them says who you are.
- The site is served by Cloudflare and the map by Mapbox. Like any website, loading it sends them your IP address and browser details.
If you sign up or list a startup
- The listing itself (name, tagline, description, website, country and category) is public as soon as you submit it.
- Your email address is kept private. It's used to sign you in and to tell you about your listing, such as when it's been reviewed. Your password is stored scrambled, so nobody here can read it. If you sign in with Google instead, Google tells us your email address and nothing else. We don't send marketing email or pass it on.
- Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in. It's only used for that.
- If you ask us to fill in your listing from your website, we read that page and send its text to OpenAI to draft the listing. Nothing about you goes with it.
If you pay for an extra
- Payment is taken by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
- We keep a record of what was bought, for which listing, and how much was paid.
Your choices
